BD Manly

Hi All,
Thought I better do a post for this Manly Birthday Card.... they are the hardest for me and with lots of Boys in the family it's a JOB......
This one is for my Brother,  he has been retired for several years now and is always needing something done.... he use to do a lot of it himself, but as we get older,,,, will lets just say it's better to have someone else do it........

 

Fist I made the tool box, and made the layers from there.... then decided it need a couple of pieces of wood planks... and some accounting paper.... it just went together from there...

and here's the inside.... some of the stamps are from MFT,,, and some are from a Flippin set I have...

I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it, and have a good laugh too... (at lest I hope so)...Te-He...

No mater how old he gets I'm still the baby.........

Grill-in!!!

Here's a closer look and the clouds and the grill, maybe you can see the HOT embers sparkle a little.

BD Boy

 Today's card is a Fun one by Art Impressions stamp set called Birthday Wishes.  I like it because it can be used for young or old.....
Made this one for my hubby's Son, he's Younger than us of cours, so that makes him in-between....

 

and here's this inside.....

 

 this saying came in the set and it differently fits us....

That little guy on the mushroom was part of the paper background from the front, had to use him...

Hubby's 70th !!!!

 My hubby's 70th BD is tomorrow.... He is NOT looking forward to it... he just HATES his BD's.... such a PooP...
So I try to make something Fun for him every year, so here's my try for this year.....

 

This is the front... I know it looks a little odd.... but keep going....

It's really hard to see but there's 2 balloons with 70 on them in the very back... along with the fish, fishing poll, boat, dock, and of course the Dog,

As hard as these are for me to make I hope he likes it..... but if not there's always next year.....

"Duct Tape"

Today I have another Manly card to show....

This image I stamped years ago when I was just learning to stamp and a few gals that were prows came over and let me use there stamps... I came across this one and another one that I stamped 2 or 3 times each and just never did anything with them....Why I don't know. .....?

For the background I used some old colume pad paper that I've got loads of... backed it with some orange.

The image I colored with SU-Watercolor crayons and a few Memento Markers.  For the wood I cut some wood paper I had left over from the last card I made and ran it thru the wood embossing folder, then popped it all up using Fun Foam.  

Here's the inside, used a few different stamp set for the words here.... and used up my last piece of wood too.

Happy Birthday Chicken Man.......

Hi All!!!

Will today I needed to make a BD card for one of our Son's.... He's a grown Man now but still loves getting my BD cards so I always try to make them FUN....

Here's what I did this year...

Is't he just the Cuties Chicken ever......and I think the paper kind of looks like chicken wire if you strech your amagination......

I put some of the wobble eyes on him too... too cute!!!

this is a side view....

I left the inside blank because still don't know if we'll see him on is BD or a few days after so I'll add that when I know....

Manly Birthday Card

Hi Everyone!

Today I'm posted the card I gave my hubby for his BD.... That Tri-fold card from the post just before this one was given to him but with the request that he give input on how to fix it... and boy did he give the input.... that will be the LAST time I do that.

But he did like this one Much better.....

Here's the front.... I used the SU bike set and the CTMH Remember set.... and then found some great paper I had bought a year ago for manly cards and had forgot I had it....

The inside I printed on my PC... see the blotchy white at the bottm.. will I photo touch up that to remove my words......te he....

And no he did not give any input on this one, just that he really like it... :)

Tri-flold Easl Birthday Card

Hi All!!

Today I'm posting a card I made for my Hubby's BD..... I really struggled with this one for some reason...and I'm still not to happy with it... I think it's the Grass on the inside and out.....

This is the 3rd try on this too... but anyway this is it for me on this card... I may just set it aside and make a different one for him....

Here's the front.

and this is a view of the inside stright on..... see the front in the back ground????

This is the view from one side... see the yucky grasssss.... and the 3 trees on the frist fold, then the buck on the second fold and the front of the card on the third fold.....

and the view from the other side....

here I'm laying the first 2 folds flat so it can be closed....

and here's the front folded back in place so it can be closed... it will lay flat for an enevelop but I left it puffed up so you can see the bends...

I'm going to try another one of these just not for a week or two... I had to start over too many times on this one and will it leave alot to be desired.....

Manly #4 Train

Hi All!! Will I'm still trying to do some BD cards for men and I'm still struggling....

I love this stamp from SU.. I've had it for several years and used it just a few times....

Here I stamped it on Craft paper with a off white pigment ink and then used clear embossing over it....

After that I just sponged 3 different colors over it... I did the same the saying below...

Don't know why the color looks so wierd here..... I used the same paper as on the front of the card.... You'll have to trust me on that one. 

The inside I left simple and just did a border I use to make all the time...

It's made with a tab punch and just folded over on to itself, that makes the circles and I leave a border show... quick and easy!

Whan I stamped the train I did a few more so I'll work on those for a few days and try for another Manly card after that...

Oh and I need to make a Fathers Day card for Belle (our dog) to give to my hubby...I almost forgot about that...yeaks!!!  Maybe I'll do that first!

Manly Birthday #2

Will I finished another one..... a little more to this one but still Manly...

When I stamped the boat and dock I put it toward the bottom of the paper... I wanted to try doing clouds like I've seen on so many other blogs... will I worked on several scraps and felt I had it down pretty good so I went for it on my boat piece.... Boy was I disapointed..... I sould have takin a pic of that before I put the die cut clouds over it.... YUCK.... Anyway I think I saved it.  

I diffently need to work on my clouds....

Will here's my first Manly card of many I need to make....

 I'm not sure about the red I picked but in person it's not too bad.....

 Not to fussy just 2 layers, a little twin... that's it...why are they so hard to do????

Do No Disturb - Birthday!

Today I'm showing a FUN Birthday card I made for my Step-Son 29th BD....

Both boys ALWAYS get us Fun or prank cards all  the time, it's hard to out do them, but I think I may have with this one...

I'm using a set I got a few years ago from Flippin I call "Do not Disturb" these are such FUN stamps and they all have the front and back of the same guy doing different things... but they all have him with a Mug of Beer in each. 

Here's a closer look of the stamp and the mug of beer, you can tell I used something puffy on the foam and also just glossy affects on the mug.... colored him in and then fussy cut him out.. The sigh came with the set too.

Here the view of how I stamped the back side on the inside of the card with another sign that came with the set as well as the TP paper rolls border... I also stamped the back side on the envelop too.

Here's a closer look of the inside saying... just perfect and then I wrote something like

" Hope you always have a Full roll of TP"

or something like that...

He LOVED it!!!

Yea! the Step Mom score one!!!!!

I know this is not a card you can give just anyone..... but if you have just the right person it's a winner for sure!

December Birthdays!

I know it's been a while since I've posted but time has just gotten away from me....

Can't believe I have time today to do this but here I am....

This was our sons Birthday card from earlier this month...

He loves to fish so this was right up his alley.

Had this CTMH stamp set that I got a few years back and had never used... will this was just the ticket for this card.  I used some wire I had from something and wound it around from the pole to the fish...

Here's a better look at how I did the wire.....

And this is the inside... can you tell he already had received this.....?

I left the border open across the top so we could put a gift card in there for him...

He loved it... will he loved the gift card anyway...!
