Hobby Lobby.......

I never have posted anything like this before but it just upset me so I had to cut and past it.
I have checked Snopes and it is TRUE.
Here's the Snopes link if you want to check it yourself.

Here's the article;
A Letter from Hobby Lobby Stores CEO

By David Green, the founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.
When my family and I started our company 40 years ago, we were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature picture frames. Our first retail store wasn't much bigger than most people's living rooms, but we had faith that we would succeed if we lived and worked according to God's word. From there, Hobby Lobby has become one of the nation's largest arts and crafts retailers, with more than 500 locations in 41 states. Our children grew up into fine business leaders, and today we run Hobby Lobby together, as a family.
We're Christians, and we run our business on Christian principles. I've always said that the first two goals of our business are (1) to run our business in harmony with God's laws, and (2) to focus on people more than money. And that's what we've tried to do. We close early so our employees can see their families at night. We keep our stores closed on Sundays, one of the week's biggest shopping days, so that our workers and their families can enjoy a day of rest. We believe that it is by God's grace that Hobby Lobby has endured, and he has blessed us and our employees. We've not only added jobs in a weak economy, we've raised wages for the past four years in a row. Our full-time employees start at 80% above minimum wage.
But now, our government threatens to change all of that. A new government health care mandate says that our family business MUST provide what I believe are abortion-causing drugs as part of our health insurance. Being Christians, we don't pay for drugs that might cause abortions, which means that we don't cover emergency contraception, the morning-after pill or the week-after pill. We believe doing so might end a life after the moment of conception, something that is contrary to our most important beliefs. It goes against the Biblical principles on which we have run this company since day one. If we refuse to comply, we could face $1.3 million PER DAY in government fines.
Our government threatens to fine job creators in a bad economy. Our government threatens to fine a company that's raised wages four years running. Our government threatens to fine a family for running it’s business according to it’s beliefs. It's not right. I know people will say we ought to follow the rules; that it's the same for everybody. But that's not true. The government has exempted thousands of companies from this mandate, for reasons of convenience or cost. But it won't exempt them for reasons of religious belief.
So, Hobby Lobby and my family are forced to make a choice. With great reluctance, we filed a lawsuit today, represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, asking a federal court to stop this mandate before it hurts our business. We don't like to go running into court, but we no longer have a choice. We believe people are more important than the bottom line and that honoring God is more important than turning a profit.
My family has lived the American dream. We want to continue growing our company and providing great jobs for thousands of employees, but the government is going to make that much more difficult. The government is forcing us to choose between following our faith and following the law. I say that's a choice no American and no American business should have to make.

The government cannot force you to follow laws that go against your fundamental religious belief. They have exempted thousands of companies but will not except Christian organizations including the Catholic church.

Since you will not see this covered in any of the liberal media, pass this on to all your contacts.

Sincerely,
David Green, CEO and Founder of Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.

Christmas 2

Hi Everyone.....
I've been out of town for a week and when I got back my Internet connection went bad so had to wait the weekend out to get a new modem..... but it's fixed again and I'm up and running better then ever....I think it's was going bad for awhile...
On to to my second batch of Christmas cards....
These are my favorite so far... I LOVE this OLD stamp from 2005 by; Paper Inspiration of "Father Christmas".  I think I've used several times, but always to some coloring on him... but this time I just stamped him on Very Vanilla with Memento- Rich Cocoa ink...All the edges were rubbed with CTMH-Vineyard Berry and I used the same to stamp the Merry Christmas on the outside and in.
The plaid paper was some old stash I've had and used for years... and the die I used on that and the inside were MFT-Perfect Bracket Edge...

Then I just warped some 10-lb Hemp Cord around and added a button to each... just some old buttons I had gotten from the flee market.

Here's a close up of the front and the cute snow flacks I stamp on the edge of the outside and in...
Will that's it for this batch... Now on to my next bunch..... Yea Whooo!!

Christmas #1

Hi Everyone!
Will I'm finally getting started on my Christmas cards.... Yea!!
Here's my first batch...
I used Flourishes Marry Christmas on the tags and for the inside I added from Close to my Heart-Peace on Earth....
I'm making these clean and simple... and using up some of my Christmas paper from last year.  The Red is by Wassail called Cranberry Sauce and the Green one is by Cloud 9 Design called Christmas Boughs.  I used 2 different Cuttlebug folders (Victoria and Divine Swirls) on the top white paper. The Marry Christmas tag is from Spellbinders Fancy Tags.

Here's how I did the inside......
So that's 10 down and only about 50 or so to go.................
I'm on a roll now!!!

Save them ALL!!

Big or Small Save them ALL!!
Is that not just the cutest or what? My first time using both of these stamp sets...
The Big or Small is from Serendipity Stamps, and the rest are by MFT's... and love them both!

I did some paper piecing on the pink suit and colored with markers the skirt and blouse.  Used two different Spellbinders dies for the Big or Small.. Labels-14 and 4 and went around both with Gold Lame Smooch. Also used MFT die Dizzy Doily the large one.

Here a closer look at the layers.....Oh and that BOW too!

and here's the inside....
Oh and the designer papers I used were from an old 6x6 pack of Echo Park, as always the plan papers are CM and SU.
This was a fun card to have in my stash too!!
Let me know what you think!

Happy Sunday!

 Hi Everyone....Happy Sunday!
Just a few pic my hubby snapped a few nights ago of my furry one and me.

These were taken about 8pm after a LONG day of running around doing all kinds of things.  Belle went with Dad and Dan on a  few outings she just loves to ride and go.. and I was at appointments and some shopping all day...

She doesn't often lay in my lap like this and then to fall asleep too, she was really pooped out.. She looks so sweet there you would never know she has little horns that come out...
That's it for today..
Enjoy!!

Wedding card #2

Hi Everyone!!!
Been wanting to post the second Wedding card I made the first one I posted on the 6th and had this one finished a few days later,,,,, but,,,,, Mom had them both and could not decide which one she wanted to use... so I had to wait till she was ready... She picked the first one I had done on the 6th, if you didn't see it please go back and check it out.
OK on to this one:
I made it finished card size of 5 x 7 too, it worked will with this large SU Magnolia stamp. Again I used Canson Watercolor paper 11 x 15 pad, then cut at 5 x 14 and scored at 7, perfect again.
I layered the back ground with black first then some Beautiful Pearls paper called Core'dinations this one is Tan Pearl and got it from JoAnns.  Then stamped and embossed the Magnolia on the pearls paper... Love how that looks... the "live with passion" came from another SU set  Inspired by Nature again I embossed that with gold to give it some bling, and added the black layer and a little ribbon and bow.

Here's a close up of the layers and embossing.......

And the inside I just made very simple with a couple of corner dies by Marianne, I re stamped the Magnolia again with a light tan and picked a verse from Cloud 9 (Simple Thoughts- Love) it's an old set but I love using it for so many things....

I know the card don't say anything about a wedding but I hoping the beauty of it brings out the thought of being together forever...
I'll wright something like that when I make it out.
Let me know what you think....!!!!

Ducks in a Row

Belated Birthday Card using the Taylored Expressions stamp set called Ducks in a Row... It's been out for a long time but I just had not gotten it...kept looking at it each time I visited the Taylored Expressions site but for some reason put it off.. will I finally got it and it just so darn Cute!!!

used Water Color paper to stamp the ducks on and Memento pens to color them in... The plaid paper came from a clearance pad by DCWV/ The Pets Stack. Ribbon was SU and just an old button I had.

Here's a close up..........

The inside is the same plaid paper I had left and I cut some grass from a MFT die, and stamped the little ducks in a light tan so they could be written over if needed.
Love how it turned out.. think I'll make a few more the same to have on hand.

Mr. & Mrs.

Yesterday Mom asked me if I had the Wedding cards started / finished yet..... Don't need them till October but she wants to be ready....
So when I got home I got cracking...
Here's my first attempt, not bad if I say so myself. Another first for me is making a finished 5 x 7 card too. I tried a few times in the past but there just was to much room for me. But with this card it seam to come together.

For the card base I used Canson Watercolor paper it comes in several size pads this one measures 11 x 15. So I cut it 5 x 14 and scored at 7, perfect.

Tip: When I went to cut the 15 inch side I just lined up my 5 inch mark on my Guillotine cutter and cut about 3/4 of the way down then turned it around and pushed the cut side up against the cutting edge and lined up the top at 5 and got a perfect cut !! Then cut and inch off the bottom and had my 5 x 14, YEA!!

The Mr. & Mrs. is from Flourishes popped up on a Spellbinders Fancy Tag-3.  Now the set of Wedding rings was from a really old CM set called Wedding Glimpses Done with one and I popped that up too.
I layered the back ground with black first then some Beautiful Pearls paper called Core'dinations this one is Tan Pearl and got it from JoAnns.  This paper comes in beautiful pale colors of pink, blue, and a pure white, can't remember the others but they are all beautiful and know I'll be getting more.

Here's a close up, I was hoping the pearl paper would show but I don't think it is, believe me it's beautiful!

OK, now for the inside, the border was from the same CM Wedding Glimpses Done with one pack and I layered it with some paper I used on the front to tie it in.  The Beautiful Stamps are by Flourishes and the corner is a die by Marianne.  These Marinne dies are so fine and beautiful, I love them all.
Will that's it for me today. Please let me know what you think, I'm always learning and welcome any suggestions!!

WOYWW

WOYWW
(What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday)
Every Wednesday Julie Dunnit hosts a gathering of crafters from all over the world to share what they are working on with a pic of our play area. It's really fun to see all the different things people are working on from all over the world and I must say I've meet some very interesting people from Julie's site, Thanks Julie!!!!!!
First I'd like to thank you for stopping by my place and visiting! I so enjoy reading your comments and encouragement too!
Will here's mine for today;
FIRST thing this morning while it was still dark out.... I was putting the coffee on and I heard this Splush!! noise from the pool.... then little splush, splush, splush's... I ran to the door and there was Belle Doggie Paddling for her life it the FAR end of the pool...
I ran out to the edge were she was in my nightie and called her and just reached her and gave her a little boost up an out.... she ran outside to the Grass and started rolling..... And I had just taking her to get a bath and all that yesterday.... So I went and got her drying towels and she came running and laied right down so good while I dried her off then went and got the second towel to finish her up....
Here's a shot of her after she was mostly dry in the craft room playing in her towel.
So Cute right!!!!

And a second shot of the same...
Now you may ask... how did she fall in... will she is not a big fan of the pool... if she can't touch she won't go any feather.. so the top step is her limit...
But this morning is was still a little dark at 6:30am and it had really rained hard last night so we had little frogs out... and she scared up 3 or 4 at once and one must have went for the pool and will the rest is history.....
She is being much more careful with her Frogs now let me tell you......
After all the Dog rescue and the drying and all that I finally finished making the coffee...
Boy was that first cup the best cup of coffee this morning!!!

Do No Disturb - Birthday!

Today I'm showing a FUN Birthday card I made for my Step-Son 29th BD....
Both boys ALWAYS get us Fun or prank cards all  the time, it's hard to out do them, but I think I may have with this one...
I'm using a set I got a few years ago from Flippin I call "Do not Disturb" these are such FUN stamps and they all have the front and back of the same guy doing different things... but they all have him with a Mug of Beer in each.
Here's a closer look of the stamp and the mug of beer, you can tell I used something puffy on the foam and also just glossy affects on the mug.... colored him in and then fussy cut him out.. The sigh came with the set too.
Here the view of how I stamped the back side on the inside of the card with another sign that came with the set as well as the TP paper rolls border... I also stamped the back side on the envelop too.

Here's a closer look of the inside saying... just perfect and then I wrote something like
" Hope you always have a Full roll of TP"
or something like that...
He LOVED it!!!
Yea! the Step Mom score one!!!!!
I know this is not a card you can give just anyone..... but if you have just the right person it's a winner for sure!

Revolving Bins

Hi all WOYWW'rs!!
(What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday)
Every Wednesday Julie Dunnit hosts a gathering of crafters from all over the world to share what they are working on with a pic of our play area. It's really fun to see all the different things people are working on from all over the world and I must say I've meet some very interesting people from Julie's site,
Thanks Julie!!!!!!
I havent posted for some time now but thought I would share this new Revolving bin thing I got last week...
My hubby went to Harbor Fraight to get power tool Stuff... and I was with him and saw this thingie...

Yep they had one all put together and I know I was not leaving without one... I did have hubby check it out for me to make sure it was not a pice of poop, but he knew I would not be putting nuts and bolts in it so it should be OK....
Here's a few shots of all the parts... and let me tell you there were alot of parts.... And I put the whole thing together all by myself too... :)

Here's my first bin put together with the dividers all screwed into place... 2 bins have 3 dividers and 2 bins have 6 dividers.....
Ok....
Now for the finished product and some before and after shots too....
This is the before left side of desk....

And here's the after left side of desk.... I'll be putting my acrilic blocks (that are in the purple bag) in the bottom bin too as soon as I get some rubber stuff for the bottom so they don't get to scrached up.  But so far I like it...
 Here's the right side before...
And then after, really not much change here.....
Sorry it's so Loooong....today... just making up for not posting for so long...
I'll make it short next week, promise!
