Sympathy

Hi All...
Yesterday we recived word that a dear friend of our had passed on.  Thow you know everyone must go sometime it's always a shock when you recive this news.  Of course I had not one card I though was good enough for this friend and had to make one today.
Here is what came to me;;;
The stamp is fromNorthwoods Rubber Stamps, sorry I don't have anything else about this stamp.

Here's a close up of how I did the center piece.....

The saying is from MFT-Clearly Sentimental about Sympathy, then I stamped just the edge of the stamp set on the side... I also did this to the enevelop but forgot to put it in the pics.... but you get the idea.
That's it for today.

Belated BD

Hi All, I'm back with another CAS card today.... I got this idea from Catherine Pooler here's her post of the layout I used... I changed my up some and I'll explain why as I go.
This is my card with envelop....When I fist made it there was just the bottom row of flowers.... then I added the Happy Birthday, then I added the green line above and below the flowers and that's when I ran into trouble.......a SMUG  and a black smug at that, so I added the row of flowers above... All this white, what am I thinkin... CAS that's what I'm thinkin.... so I'll have to be very, very careful.

Here's a close up of my flowers...

and here's the inside.....
Not sure if I captured Catherine's design but it's one I'm going to try again... I may do a manly card like she shows.  I'm sure I have some tools or something I could use.....

I'm not giving up on CAS yet!!!

Hi! -Happy Thoughts

I'm trying to do some CAS cards... and boy is this tough.  Every time I see them on other Blogs I think "I should do that" will I've decided to really make it my business to do just that.  Here's one of my tries.......It's called HI
I used MFT stamp and die set called Flower Silhouette, I scored around the outer edge and then rulered a black line between the score and edge.  For the flower I stamped it on a small piece of white CS and then used Momento Markers to colore the flower.  I Die cut the flower out of the top CS and then attached the colored one from behind with some Dimensionals.  The Bee ribbon I've had for years and don't think I've ever used it, but thought now was the perfect time & place.  The little Hi came from the Flourishes set- Call Me. And then the whole white CS I popped up with double Dimensionals to give it some... Something.

Here's a closer look of the little flower..........

and the inside I stamped another flower from the same MFT Flower Silhouette set, and the saying came from Flourishes Happy Thoughts.  I did the same thing around the edge here with scoring and the black line.
So that's it for my try at CAS... and while I was working on this one, I remember another I had seen and wanted to try... so maybe you will see another soon....

Mother's Day

Today I'm taking a brake from all this ORGANIZING and having some FUN****
I used my new Flourishes stamp set called Happy Thoughts for my flowers. The bee came from another Flourishes set called Chrysanthemum and the saying is from MFT-Happy Mother's Day.
The bottom border was made using a Martha Stewart Corner punch, I just love the deep affect it give when you used it across a straight edge like this.

I even stamped the envelop.....

And here's the inside looks a little busy, which I had stamped the flowers lighter, but for some reason it just would not happen.... The saying is from MFT-Flower Silhouette set.  In case you can't read it it says;
I Just Wanted
You to Know That
You Are Fabulous

I know Mom is going to LOVE it and will put this one on display with all the other card I make for her, she has quite the collection.

Re-Organizeing my Stamps

Hi All....
Will it's been a LONG time since I posted so not sure how many are even watching my blog any more... I've been working on getting ALL my stamp sets Re-Organized and what a job this is... more than I had expected. Now that I've found SOooo many of my old stamps that I love, now I'm looking for a way to Catalog them so I KNOW what I have and can FIND them too...... Large order I know***
After seeing a few blogs Jennifer McGuireink and The Spotted Chick I found the Avery Elle pockets at Scrapbooking Warehouse for a really good price since I need so many I had to look around.   Then I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and found the container Jennifer used in her video but also found this one.  So I got one of each to see which one would work best for me in my work area... I went with the two tier sliding basket, then went back and returned the other one and got 2 more of the 2 tier ones. I know this seams like a long post but I hope it answers a lot of little questions that I'm finding answers to along this journey.....
Here's a few pics of how I've been storing my cling and clear stamps.
On the left side is a EZMount Lightweight Stamp Storage Panel and love how ALL my stamps would stick to these panels and come off to use so well... (The EZMount Panels I reused, you will see later)
On the right side is just a index sheet I  made with either the plastic that the stamp came on taped to a sheet of paper or a stamped image just so I could see what I had.  I put them in a sheet protector so the next page would have something between them... I did this with all types of stamps see below.

MFT

Papertray Ink stamps and matching Die set

Flourishes
This is the way I've been storing my stamps since 2011 here's my post from then.
And I would have still been using this if I had not stumbled across Jennifer McGuire's blog, now my whole organization world changed for many thing.
Ok,,, next I'll show you how I place each stamp SET into a Avery Pocket.
Here's a pic of a MFT set on it's original plastic sheet so you can read the words with a paper insert (paper insert size is 7 1/4 x 5 3/8) that I have labeled with the company and stamp name if I have it, and in the Avery pocket.
Nice Ha*

and here's a pic of that set in the bottom bin.  Each bin holds 60 to 100 sets depending on if they are the red rubber cling or the thin clear sets.  Right now I just have them mix in the bins, don't have any order yet... been thinking about that????? any suggestions ?????

Now here's the new Catalog sheet I'm making of EACH stamp set.  I just ink up the stamp set while it's on the plastic and lay the paper on top and rub to get all the images...

Here's a pic of the new small book I have them in... I have it tabbed in general groups, like; Words, Fun, Birds & Bugs, Flowers, etc... but not sure if this is going to work yet.

This is a view of the book size, it holds a half sheet of paper perfect. I took a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet and (cut it at 8 1/4 x 5 1/2) punched the holes and a perfect fit.

That's it for today... If you have ANY thoughts on how to file the stamp sets or how to catalog them please let me know.... I am open to any ideas, who knows it may triger something NEW****
