Happy Birthday Summer Afternoon

Yesterday I finished my second card using the TE-Summer Afternoon stamp set.  I did lots with layers and even used some Liquid Perarls.....

Here's a better look at the layers.....

And the inside......
Today I think I'll work on some card for the Guys....
These are the hardest... so it may be awhile....

Summer Afternoon Birthday card

I bough this Taylored Expressions- Summer Afternoon stamp set second hand from Barbara A back in February and had not tried it out yet... I loved the set when it came out at TE but could not justify buying at the time, but when Barbara had it on sale will who could resist, Not ME!!!
The hardest part making this card for me was picking the background paper.... finally I did, then tried dry embosing and lightly sponged over it to bring it out more.

I decided to cut the side off just because it looked to centered in the center..... does that make any sence?? I think not....but I like the look. Then the bow just finished it off.
On the inside I used the border stamp from the same set and the CTMH- Have a Wonderful Day.
I'm pleased with how it truned out, at first I was strugleing but then it came together.

Border Cards

Back on 4-21 I posted one of these cards, the one in the center as "Black & White".  I like the border look so much I though I would try it with differnt colors and this is that I came up with.
A green and white and the yellow and brown...
All three are Birthday Cards too.

And here's the inside of one, all three are the same....

Class of 2013

Just finished a card for my Mom to use for her Great Grand-daughter...
I didn't stamp a thing here it was all stickers... yep, stickers... except for the 2013 I used my Sizzlits... and then added a Bow too since it's for a Girl!

Here's the inside another sticker here for the saying... and I used MFT Die for the pocket for $$$.
The colors are Red and Gold for her School colors and the paper I used was some CM paper I've had for just this occasion.
Two reasons I used stickers, 1-I didn' have stamps to this occasion and 2-I've been sick and need to get this out quick...

Black & White Birthday

Hi Everyone!
Today I'm posting a card I saw somewhere but can't find the blog to give her credit (Sorry!) So if you stop by to look I hope you don't mind, I went back to try and find it but had no luck.
The 2 borders I used were both Martha Stewart border punches, the black one is called Woodland Branch, have used this one allot by it self and was having trouble getting it to cut all the way thru in one spot... I did the trick with tin foil and wax paper but it did not help with this one..... the border on the white is called Pansy and this is really the first time I used it... I did not have the corner punch for either one so I just made the ribbon extend down over the corner where it's messed up... I do like the look of this and hope to use this again.  The flower stamp is from Serendipity Stamps...

Here's a closer look at the borders.....

And here you see the flowers better.....

and then the inside.....

I colored the flowers with SU-crayons and then used Adirondack espresso in the middle.
Will that's it for me today...
I'm fighting a headache and just can't shake it... I think it's the poopy weather we're having.

The Garden Gate Tea Room

Yesterday I took Mom to "The Garden Gate Tea Room" as I wrote in my previous post for her BD....
We have gone there several times now for "Special" occasions. And of course Mom turning 90 was diffently a "Special" occasion.
They starts serving at 11:30, we were there a little after 11:00 but the nice ladies saw us walking up and asked us to come in and have some Ice Tea while we waited, it was Hibiscus Cranberry Tea, Mmmmmmm with sugar crystals around the top of the glass...then they even served us some of the Sherried Creme of Carrot Bisque on the house while we waited too... How nice was that...  Now there were 3 or 4 other ladies that came in right behind us but we were the only ones that got the Royal treatment... We must have look "Hungry"... :)
Here's a pic of the Menu....

We had the Herb crusted Rosemary Baked Chicken Pie which we get every time we go then we always try something different... this time we had the Salmon Souffle Roulade, and OMG was that the BEST thing ever... So now the Salmon has been moved up in the 1st place on our list of things to get but the Rosemary Chicken Pie is a Very Close second.
Just so you know we each took half of the others meal so we got to have both... What a Treat!
No mater what we've had there it's always be 1st class and delish!

As more and more people came in we could tell there was a group of ladies having a High Tea.... so I had to ask our waitress about that and it sounds so good that Mom and I decided that next time we would have to try that.... she side we had to make reservations for that because everything is made that morning and fresh as can be...
We both are looking forward to our next visit!!!
