Die Cutting

Hi Girls,
Today I'm posting about a discovery I found in the Hot Topics on Splitcoaststampers.  For me this was like a light bulb went on, and I though "Now why didn't I think of that". You know, we've all had this happen to us....maybe your light bulb has been on longer than mine, if so just skip this.
You know how your bottom plate (the one you use to cut with) on your Big Shot or what ever die cutting machine you use always bows and we're always having to flip it, or just put up with the cover in the plate. will in this weeks "Hot Topics" it talked about Self healing mats Here.  After reading and re-reading I ordered the  Dahle Ventage 10680 Self-Healing 5-layer cutting mat  9" X 12" .  It came last night, so I had hubby cut it in half so now I have two 9"x6" cutting mats... I did use a thin piece of cardboard for a shim, but let me say it Cuts Like a charm.... I am so please with it I had to post so maybe someone else will have a "Now why didn't I think of that" moment.

Have a Wonderful Day

Today's card is just  a burst of color.  I've used this stamp many times and love how it turns out every time.  The stamp is from Northwoods Rubber Stamps, called "Blackeyed Susan & Butterflies".  I just looked them up and there still around and have bunches of beautiful flower stamps.  Here's the link for  Northwoods Rubber Stamps.

 

I told you it was full of color..... For the background I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted lite blue or violet... so I split the difference and used both... I like the way it shows thru the Spellbinders Card Creator  called "Devine Eloquence"  I colored with my Zigs again, love them. The saying at the bottom is from the same CTMH set I used yesterday called "Birthday Script".

 

Haven't decided what to put on the inside yet, but it's beautiful I think........I can turn this card into a Bd, Get Well or just about anything like this....

Ladies BD

Hi All,
Yep, can you believe it, I have another post.......Yea!

This is a simple ladies BD card.

 This was a snap to put together.  The stamp was from Indigo Blue called "Anenome Comer Dinkie" Don't ask me were that name came from but that is the name..... I used Zig's to color it and the Spellbinders curved border #2.  Also theirs a strip of tape across the bottom.  The HB is from an Old CTMH set called "Birthday Script"..

 

My inside is almost the same just at the top this time.  and the saying is from the same CTMH set. 

Not sure who is getting this one yet but it won't be long and it too will be gone.

BD card for Mom

I know it's been forever since I've posted... been making cards but no time to post.. so I though I better post a few I still have before sending, like the rest I've been making...

I saw this somewhere and had to try it... took a couple of tries before I liked the look so here goes.
The front's not much simple and clean.  

 

You SU gals will remember this stamp called "Upsy Daisy" it's what I call a shadow stamp, but I used color Zig to do my stamping... I like the water color look it gave the flowers too... But like I said not much going on here.

But on the inside it explodes with color and this 3D bundle of flowers.  

 

It was not easy to take pics of let me tell you... but here's a shot of the inside open with the saying and yes there's room behind the glass plate to even write nice things.... 

I know my Mom's going to LOVE this... she's going to be 96 and just Loves looking at all my creations... she is my test person with this one.... If she can make it work anyone can.

Ho Ho Ho

 Here's a card I just finished making a bunch of for mailing.  Love how they turned out...I made 2 versions, see what you think.

 

I used Desert Storm paper for the base for both and the Ho Ho Ho is from CTMH and then just colored them in a little and used a little Diamond Stickles on the first Ho. Then just tied a little backers twine thru the cut out.  I did do a little shading around the whole in the front too.

 

The main stamp at the bottom is an old Stampin' Up set called Holiday Lineup, there are 3 stamps in this set but I've only used two of them as in Florida we don't have snow so the snow men lineup is just an extra for me.   As you can see I just colored the little guys that show thru the whole in the front of the card, and added stickles and shading around the whole so it stands out.  The  saying is from MFT another old set I have called Stitched Stockings... And at the very bottom I cut strips of scrap paper I had that would fill that gap a little....

 Will that's it for me today..

Manly BD....

I'm really working ahead on my BD cards.... can't believe it....
Here's one for my Step-Son I know he will enjoy, it gets harder to come up with something new each year... and now that he's in his late 30's will..... I still want him to smile when he see's his cards.

The first car he ever bought with NO input from his Dad or me was a used Mustang.....Oh My!!! Now there were a LOT of memories...... Good and Bad..... He was so proud of himself.......
