1st Christmas Card for the year......?

Here's a look at my fist Christmas Card for this year..... I know what am I thinking??? But I saw one like this on Pam's "Expressions with Heart" blog and just had to try it with the dies I had....

I think I need to sponge around the outer edge yet and maybe the oval too. And work with the pine branches a little too... but other than that I think it looks almost like hers...

Here's a close up of the top.....

Not sure what I'm going to do with the inside yet... Don't want white in there,,, may just leave it craft and stamp it like that, I'll have to see...

Any suggestions??

Hi All,

Today I'm giving the CAS style a try again.... I did this same type of card back on the 14th, here's the link...

For today's card I think I did a better job, more open space, and much cleaner too I think. 

I used a CTMH stamp set for the frogs and a SU set for the fly and saying..

Here's a closer look at the cut, I popped both pieces up to add a little something to the look.

and this is the inside... Love those little flys... Oh and I used a MFT die for the grass...

It really was simple and think I'm going to do a few more to have on hand and then I can just stamp the inside when I need them.

Cut Away Hydrangeas

Today I'm posting a card I made using a beautiful stamp by Inkadinkado, there was no name on it but had the number 97776-P By Cynthia Elmore 2007.  I bough this stamp second hand but looks just like brand new... I'll have to change that......
I'm also using a style by Maile Belles here's the post I got the idea from.  Just love the look of the card with feathers she has here......For mine I used the Hydrangeas, and was just going to used the green CS, it just did not look right so I matted it with brown and it looks much better...

 

 

 

 Here' s a close up of the cut away I did... I did not have a die like Maile used so I just eyeballed it and used a straight edge and X-acto knife. I think it turned out quite nice if I must say so myself...

 

 

 and here's the inside... I did just a small panel at the bottom the same way. 

 

Haven't decided what kind of card to make it yet so just left it blank for now... I'm sure that won't last long........

Pop-Box card....

Hi All...
Not sure what the official name for this card is... but it's just one I had to try and know I'll be doing more of.... I'm going to call it a Pop-Box card....
This was my FIRST attempt so it's not to fussy, but has all the ideas in the works...

This is the front of the card... I know it needs some work, but I'll fix that.

and this is the back, with a panel to write on.....

All the ones I've see were with flowers, but I can see this made with Bugs popping out, or flowers and Bees, or Balloons, or maybe even for men with a Golfer and or other sports things the possabilities are endless.

Just lessen to me I sound like a commerical or something.....

Sympathy

Hi All...

Yesterday we recived word that a dear friend of our had passed on.  Thow you know everyone must go sometime it's always a shock when you recive this news.  Of course I had not one card I though was good enough for this friend and had to make one today. 

Here is what came to me;;;

The stamp is fromNorthwoods Rubber Stamps, sorry I don't have anything else about this stamp.

 

Here's a close up of how I did the center piece.....

The saying is from MFT-Clearly Sentimental about Sympathy, then I stamped just the edge of the stamp set on the side... I also did this to the enevelop but forgot to put it in the pics.... but you get the idea.

Belated BD

Hi All, I'm back with another CAS card today.... I got this idea from Catherine Pooler here's her post of the layout I used... I changed my up some and I'll explain why as I go.
This is my card with envelop....When I fist made it there was just the bottom row of flowers.... then I added the Happy Birthday, then I added the green line above and below the flowers and that's when I ran into trouble.......a SMUG  and a black smug at that, so I added the row of flowers above... All this white, what am I thinkin... CAS that's what I'm thinkin.... so I'll have to be very, very careful.

Not sure if I captured Catherine's design but it's one I'm going to try again... I may do a manly card like she shows.  I'm sure I have some tools or something I could use.....
