Border Cards

Back on 4-21 I posted one of these cards, the one in the center as "Black & White".  I like the border look so much I though I would try it with differnt colors and this is that I came up with.
A green and white and the yellow and brown...
All three are Birthday Cards too.

And here's the inside of one, all three are the same....

Class of 2013

Just finished a card for my Mom to use for her Great Grand-daughter...
I didn't stamp a thing here it was all stickers... yep, stickers... except for the 2013 I used my Sizzlits... and then added a Bow too since it's for a Girl!

Here's the inside another sticker here for the saying... and I used MFT Die for the pocket for $$$.
The colors are Red and Gold for her School colors and the paper I used was some CM paper I've had for just this occasion.
Two reasons I used stickers, 1-I didn' have stamps to this occasion and 2-I've been sick and need to get this out quick...

Black & White Birthday

Hi Everyone!
Today I'm posting a card I saw somewhere but can't find the blog to give her credit (Sorry!) So if you stop by to look I hope you don't mind, I went back to try and find it but had no luck.
The 2 borders I used were both Martha Stewart border punches, the black one is called Woodland Branch, have used this one allot by it self and was having trouble getting it to cut all the way thru in one spot... I did the trick with tin foil and wax paper but it did not help with this one..... the border on the white is called Pansy and this is really the first time I used it... I did not have the corner punch for either one so I just made the ribbon extend down over the corner where it's messed up... I do like the look of this and hope to use this again.  The flower stamp is from Serendipity Stamps...

Here's a closer look at the borders.....

And here you see the flowers better.....

and then the inside.....

I colored the flowers with SU-crayons and then used Adirondack espresso in the middle.
Will that's it for me today...
I'm fighting a headache and just can't shake it... I think it's the poopy weather we're having.

The Garden Gate Tea Room

Yesterday I took Mom to "The Garden Gate Tea Room" as I wrote in my previous post for her BD....
We have gone there several times now for "Special" occasions. And of course Mom turning 90 was diffently a "Special" occasion.
They starts serving at 11:30, we were there a little after 11:00 but the nice ladies saw us walking up and asked us to come in and have some Ice Tea while we waited, it was Hibiscus Cranberry Tea, Mmmmmmm with sugar crystals around the top of the glass...then they even served us some of the Sherried Creme of Carrot Bisque on the house while we waited too... How nice was that...  Now there were 3 or 4 other ladies that came in right behind us but we were the only ones that got the Royal treatment... We must have look "Hungry"... :)
Here's a pic of the Menu....

We had the Herb crusted Rosemary Baked Chicken Pie which we get every time we go then we always try something different... this time we had the Salmon Souffle Roulade, and OMG was that the BEST thing ever... So now the Salmon has been moved up in the 1st place on our list of things to get but the Rosemary Chicken Pie is a Very Close second.
Just so you know we each took half of the others meal so we got to have both... What a Treat!
No mater what we've had there it's always be 1st class and delish!

As more and more people came in we could tell there was a group of ladies having a High Tea.... so I had to ask our waitress about that and it sounds so good that Mom and I decided that next time we would have to try that.... she side we had to make reservations for that because everything is made that morning and fresh as can be...
We both are looking forward to our next visit!!!

Happy Birthday MOM!!!!

Hi Everyone!!
Today I'm posting the card I made for my Mom's 90th Birthday which is this coming week..... It's hard for me to think of her as 90 because she still dose so much for herself and refuses help...does all her cooking, laundry, light cleaning and even has us over for occasions and does the cooking.
All I can say is I hope I'm half the woman she is if I even make it to 90!

Will here's what I did with her card. Now don't be to surprised but I did a 6x6 card today.  I used a Serendipity stamp for the water lilies using Memeno Rich Cocoa and then used clear embossing over it... I did my coloring with SU Watercolor crayons, been thinking of getting some H2O's to try but can't make up my mind which colors to get there's SOooo many to pick from.

Here's a close up of the layers and my Koi fish by Cheery Lynn Designs, I just used a yellow piece of paper and then painted the fish with Smooch Glitz-Goldrush, it gave him a little shine and sparkle.

This may be a better close up of the Koi.

and the inside I restamped the water lilies and did a quick wash paint and the used the quote from Fiskars-Make a Wish quotes.
With the card being a 6x6 (which I very seldom do) there's plenty of room to wright something too.
I plan on taking her to lunch at a little Tea house that she just LOVE's to go, I know she will like that.  And hope she likes the card too.  You know Mothers they can't say anything bad when it comes to what there children make... (Oh my,,, some of the things I brought home, and she just raved about them!!!)
I'll let you know what happens at the Tea House............

Happy St. Patty's Day

The Top of the Morin to ya!!  Will afternoon anyway!
Here's the card I'm going to give my Mom later today... She is turning 90 next month Wow, I can't believe it.
And she wanted to cook us Cornbeef and Cabbage with potatoes.. We live just a few doors down from her so when she needs help she can give me a call... But when I went over this morning (as I do everyday) she already had the BIG pot out and was laying everything out so it would go 1, 2, 3... She is really something.  I hope I'm just half the woman she is when I get to 90....
Back to the card here's the front,,,,

here you can see the layers......
and then the inside too...
Will that's it for me today.
Hope you enjoy your Green Beer and Rainbows!!
