Poppies....

I should have posed this around Valentines but some how it slipped by.... I had the pic ready to post even thow I already gave the card to my Mom...
Here we go;
Mom LOVE's Poppies and needless to say she really Loved her card........
I did not have a TRUE red... now how could that be you ask....will I though it was RED but when I started coloring it just looked pinkie to me but I kept adding and this was as red as I could make them.
I stamped & colored them twice because I wanted to pop some of them up after fuss cutting them.
The stamp is by Inkadinkado called "Poppies" H97896, the embossing folder is Sizzix-Loving Thoughts-657667, and the die is Spellbinders Lattice S4-210.

here you can see the poppies popped up a little, as will as the Lattice die.

the inside I stamped the a bamboo color and cut the border using Lattice S4-218. and stamped a short verse about Money and Chocolate.... two of Mom's favorites topics.
She had a good laugh at the verse and loved the card too... she still has it sitting out in fact.

Sick Pooch

A while back I colored several dog stamps I had and decided to make this card with one of them....
is that not a face you could just kiss..... he just has the look. I cut him out using my largest fishtail flag die by MFT and then cut some more using different sizes...even the little "Heard you're sick" is on the smallest flag. I did sponge around everything.

Here's a side view, you might be able to see the print background paper is popped up as will as the dog flag.

the inside I've left bland for now.  When I cut the flag for the inside I was going to put a different color on the inside of it, then decide to just sponge around it like this and put it right back in place... I like that look.
That's it, what do you think?

Special Dates to Remember

Hi All,
Been working on this File Folder by AJ Otto, loved her idea and turned mine into a Dates to remember folder.
Here's my front view, Looks Innocent enough.....
The next pic will show some of the work it took..
with the folder making 4 folders I broke the year up into the 4 seasons....
The first one here is Winter and I made a card for each month the first is January with the days down the left side and the rest for your special events...BD, Weddings, Anniversary's, etc..... I also filled in the Holidays for each month... and for each season I made a Book mark.

In is pic you can see the month and Book mark a little better...
And I did the same for each month and just stacked Jan, Feb, March in the first folder and April, May, June in the next and so on......
This is Summer on the left and Fall on the right......

This pick is just to show how the folded area looks... the ribbon hold it tight because I taped it to the front and back....next time I may just tape it to the front.... if there is a next time.
the whole think took me quit a while with the rest of life's duties.
My Hubby said "It's really very nice, and I don't want to heart your feelings, but most people don't keep track of anything on paper any more you know." and my reply was I know but I just had to make it...

 I'd like to thank all that stopped by my place and visiting!  I so enjoy reading your comments and encouragement!
I'm a little late posting this but maybe a few of you will still see it.
Last Friday I went to Sam's and saw this Calligraphy for beginners.... always wanted to try this and just never got around to it... this was the right price so I went for it.

 I've been practicing and can tell I'm getting better but, Oh my do I  need the practice  for sure.  The top left was my frist page.... I just about gave up, but came back a few hours later and tried some more...and found if I get up and do something else and then come back I do better... So that's what I've been doing all week.
It came with a fountain pen but I can't get that to work as good as the flat felt pens I had from CM Years ago... so this week I'm going to find some real Calligraphy pens to try....
I'm going to try putting words together later this week... that should be interesting.........

A Perfect Day

A few days ago (Feb. 1) I saw a card by one of my Favorite card Gals, Leslie Miller's.  Her way of using that stamp set just made me want to try it with something I already had. Even thow I'm in NO WAY the color-er she is I made my best effort.
You really can't tell from this pic how I used the green around the flowers, but in person it dose show up.
After coloring these flowers and then deciding to use the oval die, I which I had used a round die so I would have more room for the words, but I made it work.

Like with her flowers the ones I cut out I either popped them up or glued them flat. I used an OLD Spellbinders called Doodle Parts S4-121 for the stems under the flowers. Oh and the stamp set is from Flourishes called Happy Thoughts SS257, I so miss Flourishes stamps.....

And the inside, here I used a stamp from Serendipity Stamps, sorry I don't have the name or number.
I plan on trying another one like this, I've learned a few thing with this one I want to try.

Will here's mine for today;
First I'd like to thank you for stopping by my place and visiting!  I so enjoy reading your comments and encouragement!
This week I've been coloring and working on DOG's,,,,,, and here they are;
 Now these little guys were either stamped on Canson Watercolor paper or SU regular paper.  Sometimes I stamp with SU Craft basic black ink pads and some times I use Memento Tuxedo black but always use clear embossing power with both..  For the two bigger ones I colored them with SU-Watercolor Crayons and the smaller ones with Memento and CTMH Markers.
Here's a different view of the same, I tried to stand them all up so you can see them better.
The Spoiled Dog - 6601 sleeping on the pillow and the Sick as a Dog-10403 are both from QKR Stampede.  All the rest are from "Eat Cake Graphics".
