(What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday)

Every Wednesday JulieDunnit hosts a gathering of crafters from all over the world to share what they are working on with a pic of our play area.  It's really fun to see all the different things people are working on from all over the world and I must say I've meet some very interesting people from Julie's site, Thanks Julie!!!!!!

 I'd like to thank all that stopped by my place and visiting!  I so enjoy reading your comments and encouragement!

I'm a little late posting this but maybe a few of you will still see it.

Last Friday I went to Sam's and saw this Calligraphy for beginners.... always wanted to try this and just never got around to it... this was the right price so I went for it. 

 I've been practicing and can tell I'm getting better but, Oh my do I  need the practice  for sure.  The top left was my frist page.... I just about gave up, but came back a few hours later and tried some more...and found if I get up and do something else and then come back I do better... So that's what I've been doing all week.

It came with a fountain pen but I can't get that to work as good as the flat felt pens I had from CM Years ago... so this week I'm going to find some real Calligraphy pens to try.... 

I'm going to try putting words together later this week... that should be interesting.........

A Perfect Day

A few days ago (Feb. 1) I saw a card by one of my Favorite card Gals, Leslie Miller's.  Her way of using that stamp set just made me want to try it with something I already had. Even thow I'm in NO WAY the color-er she is I made my best effort.

You really can't tell from this pic how I used the green around the flowers, but in person it dose show up. 

After coloring these flowers and then deciding to use the oval die, I which I had used a round die so I would have more room for the words, but I made it work.

Like with her flowers the ones I cut out I either popped them up or glued them flat. I used an OLD Spellbinders called Doodle Parts S4-121 for the stems under the flowers. Oh and the stamp set is from Flourishes called Happy Thoughts SS257, I so miss Flourishes stamps.....

And the inside, here I used a stamp from Serendipity Stamps, sorry I don't have the name or number. 

I plan on trying another one like this, I've learned a few thing with this one I want to try.

Dog Days and Coloring

First I'd like to thank you for stopping by my place and visiting!  I so enjoy reading your comments and encouragement!
This week I've been coloring and working on DOG's,,,,,, and here they are;

 Now these little guys were either stamped on Canson Watercolor paper or SU regular paper.  Sometimes I stamp with SU Craft basic black ink pads and some times I use Memento Tuxedo black but always use clear embossing power with both..  For the two bigger ones I colored them with SU-Watercolor Crayons and the smaller ones with Memento and CTMH Markers.

Here's a different view of the same, I tried to stand them all up so you can see them better.
The Spoiled Dog - 6601 sleeping on the pillow and the Sick as a Dog-10403 are both from QKR Stampede.  All the rest are from "Eat Cake Graphics".

Birthday Bath

I've been working on some coloring and had just finished this little guy....
He is just not looking like he is having very much fun and though I would try to use him for a BD card.

I love this background paper from an old 6x6 pad DCWV-The Pets Stack, it has so many cute sheets. It really worked will with this little pooch getting his BD Bath, he's from QKR Stampede called what else "Dog Bath-1801"  He's just one of several dog stamps I got and started coloring I'll have to show you later this week.

Here's a better shot to see the bubbles and water drops. I used Glossy Accents first then when that dried added some Stickles Rock Candy here and there. 

And this is the inside.... a nice clean pooch and ready to Party....this little guy is from "Eat Cake Graphics" called "Fetch Leaps through the Air-3036-G".
I just fussy cut him out and glued him down.

I do most of my coloring with SU-Watercolor Crayons and Memento markers.

BAD Day..........

Oh yes I was having a really Bad Day last week, in fact several of them..... I was trying to post here on Blogger and could not add any pics......  Thinking I should be able to fix this and checking everything I thought it could be will it was a No Go.... So I went to Google and asked the question and found out I needed to update to Google Chrome.  Guess I should have done it a long time ago but will I just didn't.  So anyway I tried a few more things and then really missed up my PC so I had to call my PC guy (The PC Doctor)  Been using him for several years now and think the world of him.  I always send his check in a cute card, I want him to remember me and laugh so he don't think (OH no not her again...) Thought I would share the card I made with you all.

Here's a view of the front.  The words I printed on my PC and them cut them out using the Die-Paper Smooches- Quotables M1D128....

Now the stamp is from QKR Stampede called One of Those Days - 10709.....

The Card base is Neenah-Desert Storm that I got form The Spotted Chick site... when you look in her Supplies for each card you can order from there... She gets credit for each sale, so if your going to order go to her site.

The other layers are from an old 6x6 pad from K&Company called Julianne. The tan strips are glossy, so it looked like wall paper to me. and the lines on the red are glossy too.

This is just another view of the same....

I know he will get a kick out of this one and have a good laugh too.... 

So if you need a GOOD PC person he really is worth checking out, and no I don't get anything for referrals.

Happy Anniversary / Hapy Valentines Day

Hi Everyone!!!
YEA!!!! Got my PC fixed.....
I needed to update my browser to Google Chrome and had some other things tidied up too... I have the BEST PC guy.   VERY TRUST worthy....
So this is the post I've been wanting to do:

It's been WAY to long since I've posed anything... so today I though I better get back on the stick.
I saw a really cute Valentines Day card for a man a few days ago (now weeks) and wanted to try one with the things I already had.  Here's the card I saw...... isn't it just too cute??
Since I haven't made many shaker cards this was even more FUN to try....
Here we go.......

This is the front view of my try at of Amy Sheffer card.... This is my first shaker card in ages and rather pleased with it's out come. 

Here's a close up of the pole and line I used. The pole was longer so I just cut one section off and added the line and the little fishy too... it has some bling on it but you really can't see it too good.

This is the inside, I cut another heart and added my saying which I love.... Can't see it very will here so this is what it says;

It is the things in common that make relationships enjoyable, but  it's the little differences that make them interesting.

This is going to be my Anniversary card for my honey, we got married on a FRIDAY, Feb. 13. So we've always celebrated Valentines Day on the 13th a day early.....
